Frequently asked questions
Does the WD_BLACK C50 1TB work with Xbox Series X and Series S?
Yes. It is designed for both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. It uses their dedicated Storage Expansion slot; it is not an Xbox One or USB storage upgrade.
Can I play Xbox Series X|S games directly from the C50 card?
Yes. Games can be stored and played from the card after setup, avoiding a transfer back to internal storage before playing.
Is the WD_BLACK C50 the same as a USB external SSD?
No. The C50 connects through the dedicated expansion slot. A USB drive can store Series X|S games, but games requiring the console’s high-speed storage need internal storage or a compatible expansion card to play.
Does the 1TB C50 provide a full 1TB of usable game space?
1TB is the advertised decimal capacity. Actual usable capacity is lower and depends on the operating environment. This listing is the 1TB version; compare like-for-like capacities rather than 512GB or 2TB offers.
